Local de produção e composição dos feromônios de trilha e sexual em cupins: (BLATTODEA: ISOPTERA): Uma revisão

Resumo

Os feromônios são substâncias amplamente difundidas entre os insetos, no caso dos cupins que são insetos sociais, essas moléculas mensageiras, secretadas por glândulas exócrinas, realizam funções cruciais para a manutenção da homeostase nas colônias. Esta revisão traz uma visão geral sobre a composição e a origem glandular dos feromônios de trilha e de atração sexual em Isoptera. Os resultados obtidos mostram que a principal glândula responsável pela produção do feromônio de trilha
é a glândula esternal enquanto que para a feromônio sexual três tipos de glândulas podem estar envolvidas na secreção: glândula tergal, esternal e esternal posterior. Em relação à composição química, observou-se controvérsias quanto a presença de uma secreção simples ou composta. Além disso, diferenças na composição do feromônio de trilha entre cupins basais e derivados foram encontradas. Por fim, o dodecatrienol foi o composto frequentemente mais encontrado na composição dos feromônios de trilha e sexual nos cupins estudados.
